Kindergarten students will focus on two areas of mathematics. They will be able to represent, relate and operate using whole numbers, initially with sets of objects. Students will also be able to describe shapes and space. For Language Arts, kindergarten students will answer questions about details in a text. They will also be able to identify the parts of a book and understand the features of print. Kindergarten students will be able use a combination of drawing, dictating, and writing to compose opinion, informative, and narrate an event. Kindergarten students will continue to build a foundation of social and emotional development and development of motor skills. Kindergarten students will complete two service learning projects per year as outlined in the Hall County Balanced Scorecard.
